Winding Temperature Indicators "infer" hot spot measurement by measuring top or bottom oil temperature which significantly lags the real hot spot. Luxtron's fiber optic probes measure temperature directly at the transformer winding in real time, providing valuable input to thermal models and control schemes thereby enabling dynamic load operation.
