Pearl Camera Core

The Pearl infrared imager is a low cost hardware and software architecture designed to operate LumaSense’s FPA family of detectors in thermal imaging of applications. Based on a modular hardware and software platform, the design can be used as a component inside a larger archi¬tecture for a specific customer application. The design is portable among programmable hardware manufacturers and can be integrated into new or existing designs.

Features include:

  • Multiple Focal Plane Arrays
  • 160X120, 60 Hz; 320X240, 30 Hz, 320X240, 60 Hz and 640X480, 30 Hz.
  • NTSC Composite Video Output
  • Input Power from 7.2 to 36 Volts
  • Serial Interface for Configuration and Control
  • Host Computer Interface allows the user to easily change the operating settings of the detector and directly control camera functions.

Several options have been added to the Pearl in larger system architectures for specific applications. Additional capabil¬ities are developed based on customer requirements. These additions require new hardware to implement the described functionality. Custom capabilities that can be implemented include:

  • Bar Code Reader
  • Integrated LCD Display
  • Battery Power
  • Visible Camera
  • User Interface for Guided Measurement Control
