Innova 1316

Ecconomical and Versitile Multi-Gas Monitor

The Multi Gas Monitor - INNOVA 1316 is the first in a new family of gas analysis instruments for use in a wide variety of industrial applications. The instrument provides an affordable, highly reliable, and very accurate multi-gas solution that can be used in numerous applications e.g.: Fermentation Monitoring, Refrigerant Leak Detection, Landfill Gas (LFG) and/or Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Monitoring, Biogas Monitoring, Stack Gas Emissions Monitoring (CEMS), Inert gas blanketing in the Food Industry, monitoring of hospital gases for occupational hygiene, and Industrial Process- and Production-Control.

The INNOVA 1316 is a cost-effective instrument based on a rugged, reliable, and field-proven product platform. The INNOVA 1316 incorporates our Andros® brand of NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) gas bench. Our NDIR implementation has no moving parts in the optical path, calibrations are seldom required, and the instrument automatically compensates for drift by a zero calibration routine while measurements are performed. The INNOVA 1316 does not demand skilled operators, consumables, or frequent service. LumaSense has many thousands of NDIR units successfully deployed for decades in harsh and demanding environments.

Similar to other Innova instruments, setup is simple, easy and fast. The INNOVA 1316 measures up to five gases, including Oxygen, and is configured from an assortment of available gas detection modules and sensors. This family of instruments is an excellent complement to the ultra-low detection ranges of our existing line of photo-acoustic gas analyzers – the INNOVA 1412 and INNOVA 1314.

The two models:
INNOVA 1316-1 for Industrial Combustion Monitoring and Control

The INNOVA 1316-1 measures the concentration of Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide and Hydrocarbons (with reference to either Hexane or Propane). Combined with optional sensors it also can measure Oxygen and Nitric oxide.

INNOVA 1316-2 for Greenhouse Gas Monitoring, Refrigerant Leak Detection and Other Industrial Applications

The INNOVA 1316-2 measures concentrations of Carbon dioxide, Ammonia (NH3) and/or Freons. This instrument can also be configured to measure Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). A multitude of Freons can be measured, including: R22, R134A, R404A, R407C, and R410A. It is also capable of measuring R408A, R417A, R422D, R401A, R402A, R502, R507, R123, R123A, R422A, R245FA, R125.

The user software BZ6012 supplied with the monitor provides a user-friendly way to setup the monitor and display real time measurement data in numeric or graphical display. Large datasets can be analyzed by our software or exported to other analytical software tools. The software can control up to four instruments each representing a separate sample point. With our multi-point sampler, a large number of points can be sampled with a single instrument.

The different modules use the NDIR technique. The module optics incorporate a precision beam focusing architecture whereby a concentrated infrared beam is passed into an optical assembly of highly specialized filters and an unique multi-element detector.

The optional sensors are electrochemical sensors ready to be attached and controlled by the Module. All calculations are performed in real time and transmitted to the user software.

The Measurement Cycle

The user software communicate with the Multi Gas Monitor - INNOVA 1316 using USB or RS-232 interface. The pump draws air from the sampling point through the air filter to flush out the old air in the measurement system comprising the selected module and two sensors.

Light from the infrared source is sent through the measurement chamber and passes through specialized filters to a reference filter and the absorption of energy at specific frequencies is calculated. Then the concentration of the individual gases in the chamber is reported.

After passing the module chamber the gas is sent to the optional electrochemical sensors where the signal is measured again. The measured signal is reported back to the module and the concentration of the compound is reported together with the gas concentrations from the module via the interface connection to the software.
