LumaSense's expertise in fiber optic temperature measurement has led to development of the broadest selection of temperature sensor and probe designs. These designs enable users to achieve high accuracies using fiber optic thermometers.

Accuracy

The Luxtron Fluoroptic® Technology is based on a ceramic, thermo-sensitive sensor that is incorporated into the tip of Luxtron's fiber optic probes. This sensor's inherent properties provide the basis for a very stable and repeatable measurement of temperature.

The result is accuracy better than 0.2°C for most applications.

Superior Thermal Interface

Sensor accuracy depends not only on the accuracy of the measurement system, but also on how the sensor/probe thermally interfaces with the object to be measured.

Probe features

  • Small sensors allow pin-point spatial resolution of measurements,
  • Low thermal conductivity of the fiber optic probe materials allow the accurate measurement of highly localized temperatures, even in strong thermal gradients, and
  • Miniaturized probes enable minimaly invasive access to points of interest.
