50 W Sixteenth-Brick Isolated DC-DC Converters

Advanced Energy’s AVD50 series sixteenth-brick isolated DC-DC converter provides a fully regulated 5 V output, capable of delivering up to 10 A. Used primarily for telecommunications, this 50 W converter employs open-frame construction, 91% efficiency, and an ambient operating temperature range of -40 to 85˚C. With a 2:1 input range of 36 to 75 VDC, this series is also available in a baseplate option for enhanced thermal performance. AVD50 series converters have an installed height of just 0.37 inch (9.5 mm), making them ideal for systems with demanding inter-board spacing requirements.
